Eleven Eastern is a dynamic commercial building offering premium, contemporary workspaces for businesses that value innovation
Located at a prominent crossroads in South Melbourne, the distinctive design captures views and sunlight and a sense of movement and energy that enlivens the landmark destination.
Energising the Environment
The striking free-form design evolved from the different heights and setbacks of two combined sites and the desire to capitalise on views. We designed the 14-storey building with four distinct, stacked volumes that gently turn and flare to face different aspects of the city. The free-flowing concept continues in the double-height lobby and spiral staircase, where the movement of people has a kinetic energy.
Sculpting a Functional Aesthetic
Vertical blades wrap the glass façade, carefully modelled and tuned for the solar heat load and air conditioning, while maintaining natural light and views for the interiors. The glass wall and blades are pressed inward to articulate the main entry and scoop around the urban artwork in the new pedestrian plaza adjacent to the tram super stop.
Designed for Marketability
Providing an attractive new workplace in South Melbourne, Eleven Eastern combines corporate appeal with highly considered amenities, including bike storage, end-of-trip facilities and luxury change rooms. The flexible and adaptable workspaces can expand and contract in size, and every tenancy has access to an open-air terrace with views across the area.
