Drawing inspiration from the coast, Dune seamlessly integrates with the shoreline, creating a harmonious connection between nature and dwelling

Dune is a luxury apartment occupying a premium address on the Gold Coast. The design of the slender building looks beyond the constraints of the 15-metre-wide site, with the entry conceived as an extension of the dunes, and the communal spaces and apartment interiors amplifying the beachfront experience.

Ascending the Dune

The entry sequence is evocative of ascending a dune to arrive at the beach. The front threshold is open and generous to the street, and stairs with staggered, landscaped edges embed the building with the verge. Reaching the top of the stairs there is a visual connection to the beach beyond, the path leads to the swimming pool, where the wet edge creates a water-to-water view and the lustre of the soffit ripples with reflected light.

Crafted for the Coastal Location

The slender tower is elegantly proportioned, with glass, timber, curved corners and landscaped edges articulating the façades. Sliding glass doors and timber screens allow occupants to tune their environment to the sub-tropical climate, and recessed Juliette balconies help mitigate the wind and provide lateral views. The textural, tonal palette complements the coastal location and is resistant to the harsh environment, becoming more beautiful with time.

Curating the Living Experience

Dune has one luxury apartment per floor, each designed with the scale and layout of a freestanding home and a curated journey from the lift that heightens the coastal living experience. The long central corridor lengthens the view and culminates in a large stone portal to the living, dining and kitchen with the balcony and horizon beyond. Expansive side windows offer views up down the coast, and the stone and timber palette draws the colours of the dunes inside.
