Enriched with meaningful ornament, Casamia celebrates beauty in architecture and luxury in subtropical living.
Embracing the West End’s eclectic energy and lush natural surrounds, Casamia is a luxury residential building that celebrates beauty, artistry and craftsmanship. Its sculptural form, rippling balconies and layered ornamentation give Casamia a distinct identity. The design enriches the subtropical living experience and reimagines apartment life with the generosity and grace of a finely crafted home.
Ornament with intent
Casamia’s sculptural form is an organic response to its subtropical setting and vibrant cultural context. The rippling balcony edges and crafted ornamental eaves and soffits draw inspiration from the eclecticism of the neighbourhood and the natural landscape that surrounds the site. Subtly shifting as they rise, the curvatures in the balconies and aluminium soffit create a dynamic, layered façade – one that expresses movement while maintaining a sense of restraint and refinement. From within the dwellings, the undulating eaves soften the balcony thresholds, frame views and draw the eye beyond the building to sky, street and treetop, anchoring Casamia in its place with quiet confidence.
Crafted with artistry
Artistry and detail elevate Casamia’s experience at every scale. The landscaped streetscape and symmetrical composition draw residents and visitors to the central steps, portico and entry sequence that elevates the ritual of coming home. Throughout the building, craftsmanship adds richness, identity and moments of delight, from columns imprinted with a woven pattern to sculpted timber screens in the lobby and rooftop soffits adorned with a fern motif. These bespoke elements reflect a commitment to working with artists and craftspeople, embracing the handmade and celebrating the subtle imperfections that make each detail feel human and unique.
Elevated for luxury living
Each dwelling at Casamia is conceived as a home in the sky, designed as a series of living and sleeping pavilions connected by gardens, borrowed views and framed thresholds. Exposed structural columns sit outside the apartment envelope, allowing for a free-flowing, open plan that offers the spatial generosity of a house with the elegance of apartment living. Deep recesses create garden rooms between living and bedroom spaces, drawing light and landscape deep into the home. Subtle changes in flooring and careful layering of thresholds define movement through each residence, while pebbled balcony edges, potted greenery and soft screening blur the line between architecture and garden, creating a living environment that feels grounded, calm and deeply personal.
