An Expression of Location
Show moreA ground plane that is open, visually generous and heroic in scale, offering a sense of extension of the scale of the adjacent beach. The experience of the “street building” is one of void and garden. Site lines from west to east encourage broad expansive connections from inland to the beachfront – a truly generous spatial gesture to the public realm.

Show moreThe building becomes a long pavilion with the northern facade revealing a deeply carved “verandah”. Operable, layered and articulated this face of the building becomes highly tectonic.
The southern façade become more robust through a series of articulated concrete blades that provide privacy to the southern neighbour whilst allowing lateral views and openings to capture south-easterly breezes. The spine of the building anchors the tower in place.
