Studio Story: Rothelowman Gold Coast celebrates one year in Broadbeach Studio
Rothelowman has celebrated the one-year anniversary of its Gold Coast studio.
After more than 10 years of contributing architecture, urban design and interiors to the SEQ region, the move to Broadbeach was a natural evolution for the practice, signalling its commitment to the built environment of the Gold Coast.
Rothelowman celebrated the milestone by inviting friends and colleagues to the coast-side studio for drinks and canapes with self-proclaimed ‘design nerd’, Tim Ross.
The Broadbeach studio encapsulates the beauty of its local context, speaking to the unique and laid-back charm of the Gold Coast through its open-plan design and views across the Kurrawa surf break.
Now home to an established team of architects and interior designers, Rothelowman applies a fresh and innovative approach to its work, encapsulating the region’s character, culture and lifestyle.
At the one-year celebration, Rothelowman Principal Jeff Brown shared, “we are believers in immersing ourselves in the places we work. Rothelowman is a business that loves the challenge of new frontiers and going deeply local. Authenticity is a constant in our vision for our practice.”
The Gold Coast team prides itself on its level of expertise when it comes to property innovation through intelligent design. The local team collaborates nationally with over 200 staff across studios in Melbourne, Sydney, and nearby Brisbane.
The Gold Coast is now Australia’s sixth largest city, accounting for 11 percent of the country’s total regional migration in 2021.
As Australia’s fastest-growing regional area, according to figures obtained from the Regional Australia Institute, there is clearly a deep appreciation for the city’s lifestyle opportunities. This has seemingly been accelerated by the recent cultural shift to embracing hybrid work models and a greater appreciation for work-life balance. Therefore, setting up a Gold Coast studio is a long-term commitment for Rothelowman, and the team is thrilled to evolve our relationship with the city.
Rothelowman looks forward to supporting the Gold Coast City Council’s vision to harness the popularity of the region as not only a holiday destination but as a sophisticated and vibrant place to live.
