The podium provides an innovative solution to the problem of the flood plain, reinventing the typical interface to Claremont Street. The design engages passing pedestrians as well as hotel users in a way unique to this particular place.
Bridging the gap between urban elements
The entrance is via our new lane. The lane gently rises to allow entry into the hotel and residences above the flood plain. This arrangement allows for true universal access: hotel guests with suitcases, parents with prams, anyone.
