Rothelowman has completed a new 40 room boutique hotel as part of the comprehensive renovation and refurbishment of the historic Flinders Hotel.
The rugged coastal scenery provided inspiration for the design; the abstract ‘waves’ that define the facades and the pergola that evokes the jetty with its brick piers anchored into the ‘seabed’.
The material palette draws from the vernacular context of Flinders and the interior design provides subtle references to the history of the Hotel, from its use of natural materials to a specially commissioned floor-to-ceiling nautical mural.

The new accommodation together with the refurbished bars, a destination fine dining restaurant and a function/conference space, generate a unique presence meant to resonate with patrons, locals and the surrounding environment.
