We are excited to announce that after a 25-year tenure with global firm HDR, industry renowned mixed-use and retail specialist Susanne Pini has joined Rothelowman.

As we head into our 4th decade, Susanne brings exceptional experience, strategy and leadership to help continue the growth of the firm and the evolution of our work on a national scale. Joining the team of 12 national Principals, Susanne will also lead the Sydney studio with fellow Principal Ben Pomroy.

Managing Principal Nigel Hobart shares, “Susanne is a true leader. She has an innate ability to solve complex problems for her clients, facilitate growth in her teams and, at the same time, is an exceptional, industry-leading principal and designer. Susanne’s passion for strategic design that influences city-shaping and elevates health, well-being and the creation of community, is what we felt aligned her perfectly with our culture and design approach.”

Susanne adds, “At Rothelowman, we work intrinsically as a professional collective, not as individuals. Daily, the firm’s thought leaders from across our studios come together to provide input and ideas for every problem we set out to solve. While the collaboration feels organic, it is also supported and formalised by established frameworks including the Rothelowman Manifesto.”

This inclusive nature allows Rothelowman to be proactive in addressing and balancing the project agenda as the design develops — there are no bad ideas, just better decisions.

Susanne’s architecture, which includes publicly engaging pieces of community infrastructure and complex urban regeneration projects, has received many prestigious awards, both locally and globally. With a passion for creating healthy, sustainable communities, Susanne reshapes cities and town centres with mixed-use buildings that enrich lives.

Ben Pomroy adds, “With Susanne on board, our combined expertise brings a dynamic offering to the New South Wales market. We have a unique skillset to create great mixed-use, retail and urban design at a large scale. Susanne’s leadership and passion for professional development for her teams will be instrumental as we continue to evolve the practice.”

Susanne’s appointment strengthens our commitment to creating urbanism, architecture and interiors that simultaneously benefit clients, building users and our cities.
