Media: Rothelowman enters its fourth decade and announces new hire

Following a 25-year tenure with global architecture practice HDR, mixed-use and retail specialist Susanne Pini has joined Rothelowman.

Pini’s appointment coincides with Rothelowman entering its fourth decade. Her experience, strategy and leadership will help to continue the growth of the firm and the evolution of work on a national scale.

She will join the team of 12 national principals and lead the Sydney studio with fellow principal Ben Pomroy.

“Susanne is a true leader,” says Rothelowman managing principal Nigal Hobart. “She has an innate ability to solve complex problems for her clients, facilitate growth in her teams and, at the same time, is an exceptional, industry-leading principal and designer.

Pini adds that Rothelowman is based on “collective” rather than “individual” work.

“Daily, the firm’s thought leaders from across our studios come together to provide input and ideas for every problem we set out to solve. While the collaboration feels organic, it is also supported and formalised by established frameworks including the Rothelowman Manifesto.”

According to Rothelowman, this approach allows the practice to “be proactive in addressing and balancing the project agenda as the design develops – there are no bad ideas, just better decisions.”
