The industrial sector landscape is evolving, and our understanding of the typology is changing. At Rothelowman, we refer to this progressive thinking as the “Industrial Evolution.”

We recently held a lunch with Bendigo Bank’s Chief Economist and Head of Economic and Markets Research, David Robertson, to discuss the economic outlook, funding, and design trends shaping the industrial sector’s future.

During the session, Rothelowman Principal and industrial expert, Chris Hayton, shared his insights, saying, “We are seeing a significant shift in the way industrial development is understood. It is now viewed as a much broader asset class than traditionally thought and is becoming an integral part of the contemporary city. The way people use industrial developments is changing, and we must evolve the design to facilitate a more mixed-use approach that incorporates community amenities and emphasises the importance of placemaking.”
